Deerhunter and Atlas Sound vocalist Bradford Cox will be appearing in the film The Dallas Buyers Club. He will playing the cross dressing gay lover of 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto’s character, who is dying of AIDS in the film.

The Jean-Marc Vallee directed film stars Matthew McConoughey as Ron Woodruff, a Texas electrician who was diagonosed with AIDS who had experimented with non-FDA approved drugs in 1986 and was given a few months to live. He had smuggled alternative drugs into the US to help himself along with other AIDS patients, which caused rifts with the US Food and Drug Administration, which had been keeping it out of the country.
Griffin Dunne plays the alternative medical doctor who helps Woodruff, and Denis O’Hare plays another doctor. The script is written by Craig Borten and Melissa Wallack.
The film also stars Jennifer Garner and Steve Zahn, and is produced by Robbie Brenner and Rachel Winter. The film is currently filming in New Orleans.
