Capitol Records Announces This Is 40 Soundtrack For December 2012 Release Including Songs From Fiona Apple, The Avett Brothers, Ryan Adams and More

Capitol Records has announced the December 11 release of the soundtrack album for Universal Pictures’ new comedy This Is 40 from writer/director Judd Apatow. The album features original songs by Norah Jones, Fiona Apple, Graham Parker, and Lindsey Buckingham as well as new tracks from Wilco and Ryan Adams.

Maybe the best news is that, contrary to earlier concerns, Fiona Apple’s song, “Dull Tool,” written specifically for the film, will now be included on the soundtrack album.

The album also features Paul Simon, Loudon Wainwright, Yoko Ono, and The Avett Brothers. It was produced by Judd Apatow and Jonathan Karp and features songs produced by the film’s composer Jon Brion.
