R.I.P. Suicide Silence’s Singer Mitch Lucker, Sustained Injuries from Motorcycle Accident

Early this morning (Nov 1), Mitch Lucker, leader singer of Riverside, CA band Suicide Silence was pronounced dead following injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. The crash occurred approximately around 8:55 PM last night in Huntington Beach, according to a statement from the city’s Police Department. Lucker was 28 years old.

The story was first reported by Press Enterprise, who wrote that Lucker was riding his 2013 Harley Davidson when he lost control, collided with a light pole and was ejected from the bike. The motorcycle kept moving, and hit a Nissan Titan pickup however neither the truck’s occupants or pedestrians were injured.

The singer was taken to nearby UCI Medical Center by paramedics but pronounced dead at 6:18 this morning. The band issued the following statement:

“There’s no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts. R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker. We love you, brother.”

Mitch Lucker is survived by his wife, Jolie, and 5-year-old daughter, Kenadee. His father, Kip Lucker, is a Riverside resident. He also survived by his brothers, Cliff and Kelton, and his mother, Denise.

Jolie Carmadella, Lucker’s wife, spoke at the candlelight vigil held on November 1 (around 2:00 minute mark on video below). The night of Lucker’s accident, she says she begged him not to leave their home. Unfortunately, he got away. Watch the video below for footage from the vigil.

He was an alcoholic, and it’s a been a big battle. I tried to stop him. I was in front of him begging him not to leave the house. Begging him. ‘Just seriously, for us, don’t leave.’ And he did. And this is what happened […] It’s a wake-up call […] He was an amazing man. He was a wonderful father and a great husband. And now he’s gonna miss out on watching Kenadee grow, because he decided to drink and ride.

Just don’t. Just think before you guys do something stupid. Please learn from this. Please.
