Jazz-Folk singer and late Massive Attack collaborator Terry Callier has passed away at age 67.
Stereogum reports Terry Callier, one of the world’s most influential folk-soul singers, passed away at age 67 at his home in Chicago. Callier was famous for blending jazz, folk, soul and into a worldly musical conglomerate. The peak of his musical creativity was between 1967 and 1979 when he released The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier, Occasional Rain and What Color Is Love. In the early 90s his music was rediscovered in England and he was able to reinvent his career. He worked on Beth Orton’s Best Bit EP and Massive Attack produced his last album Hidden Conversations in 2009.
