The German electronic group Tangerine Dream has amazingly released over 100 albums in their career. However, their most recent album takes a new creative spin as they remix classic and modern rock songs with electronic beats.
As mentioned in a Consequence Of Sound article, Tangerine Dream’s latest album, which just dropped on October 16th, is titled Under Cover. The album is an exploration of some of the band members’ favorite classic and modern rock songs with an electronic edge.
Each member of the band selected tracks that intimately resonated with them. [Edgar] Froese chose “Everybody Hurts”, Space Oddity,” and “Heroes” on which he played synth, mellotron, and provided vocals. Percussionist/drummer Iris Camaa selected “Wicked Game”, “Hotel California” and “Iris.” Flutist and singer Linda Spa chose “The Model”, “Suzanne”, and “Forever Young”. Thorsten Quaeschning, main vocalist and synth/guitar player, chose “Cry Little Sister”, “Precious”, and “Hallelujah”. Guitarist Bernhard Beibl elected to cover “Norwegian Wood” and “Wish You Were Here”.
The album is sure to have a sentimental value as each song is personally important to one of the band members and will certainly be a memorable and exciting addition to the band’s many albums.
