Morrissey Performs “People Are the Same Everywhere” and “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris” on The Colbert Report

Morrissey has never been one to mince words. As a teenage music writer, he wrote a seething review of the Ramones and called them “rubbish.” As a frontman for the seminal melancholy and hyper-literate indie pop band, the Smiths, he had a feud with Robert Smith of the Cure.

And this has been a busy week for the musician. After appearing on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” Morrissey stopped by Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” for a performance and interview. During the interview, Colbert asked Morrissey about his disdain for the royal family and the possibility of a Smiths reunion.

Morrissey performed his semi-new track, “People Are The Same Everywhere.”

He also performed “I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris” from his 2009 album Years of Refusal in a web exclusive.
