British songstress Martina Topley-Bird uploaded a unique cover of The xx’s “Crystalised” on her Facebook page last week. So far, there hasn’t been any substantial news on the collaborators but it’s been revealed that her previous duet partner Mark Lanegan is playing the role of Oliver Sim for the cover. The track was first seen on Massive Attack’s SoundCloud stream. Massive Attack’s 2010 LP featured Topley-Bird’s vocals.
Topley-Bird teases: “More to come soon.” It’s likely that the cover is planned for Lanegan’s upcoming covers album of her own album, Some Place Simple.
