The Dark Flowers Announce New Album Radio Land For Fall 2012 Release Featuring Jim Kerr, Peter Murphy, Dot Allison and More

Paul Statham’s new collaborative project The Dark Flowers have announced a new album coming out in October 2012 called Radio Land.  As if this announcement isn’t news enough, The Dark Flowers have also just released their When Stars Fall EP, which hosts an impressive set of vocalists.  More info after the jump.

The Dark Flowers is a new project formed by songwriter Paul Statham who is perhaps best known for his work with Dido and Peter Murphy. The Dark Flowers’ new When Stars Fall EP is highly collaborative, featuring Jim Kerr of Simple Minds, Peter Murphy of Bauhaus, Dot Allison, Kate Havnevik, Shelly Poole of Alisha’s Attic, Catherine AD and Helicopter Girl. Jim Kerr’s collaborations are “Night is the New Day” and “This Boys Life.” Catherine AD appears on the EP for “No Trains Stop Here”, while Shelly Poole sings the title track. Statham has admitted that he was inspired to start this new project when reading Sam Shepard’s classic, Motel Chronicles. Each vocalist interpreted a passage from the play to use as their inspiration.
