The Flaming Lips will be playing a completely free show on October 26th in their hometown of Oklahoma City. The band is promising that the show, titled “Freak Night”, will be the largest costume party in the midwest.
The Flaming Lips, which have been working on a tribute album to Crimson King, as was discussed in a previous mxdwn article, is now performing free show in their hometown. According to BAM’s Blog, the band will perform on October 26th at the Zoo Amphitheater in Oklahoma City. At this giant costume party and concert, The Flaming Lips will be joined on stage by New Fumes and Stardeath and White Dwarfs. This concert is also exciting for the venue because it is their last performance of it’s 2012 season. This is because a new company, 3Horse Productions, is set to take over the operation of the amphitheater after this concert. For more information on this free performance visit the Zoo Amphitheater’s site.
