Guns N’ Roses recently announced that they will be playing a 12-date residency at the Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in October and November. Titled the “Appetite For Democracy” residency, the band has promised nightly set lists that include selections from throughout their storied career. The run kicks off October 31st with dates then on November 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 14, 17, 18, 21, 23 and 24.
Given Axl Rose’s volatile history, audiences are almost sure to to be treated to some unexpected, entertaining bumps along the way. During a recent stop at the O2 Arena in London, fans began throwing money and pint glasses at the band in response to them starting the show 50 minutes late.
While Slash’s top hat and spiraling curls may be noticeably absent from the band these days, GN’R did finally release the fabled Chinese Democracy in 2008 and have been carrying on relatively consistently since. It was their first recording in 15 years and the talk from the current lineup is that the 7th album is in the works.
Regarding the band’s plans, guitarist Dj Ashba says:
I can say making a new album absolutely is our main priority. And I cannot wait to get working on it. Axl has tonnes and tonnes of stuff recorded as it is. I mean, he sits there in his hotel room and he’ll play me hours of stuff. And I’ve written over ten songs, I think 12 songs now, for him that he really likes.
