The new video for Pony Boy’s “Not in This Town” plays with intriguing themes related to small-town life and heartache. Like a good book you can’t put down, the mystery element to this video makes the viewer want to watch this more than just once.Pony Boy, aka Marchelle Bradanini, is not afraid to explore darker themes of violence and mystery through her music. Pony Boy’s style is entirely unique and puts a sultry and smoky twist on junkyard country meets southern gothic soul. This can easily be seen through her captivating music video for “Not in This Town”. From her outfits to the red convertible she drives, this video feels like it is straight out of the 1950’s. Pony Boy looks mysterious and seductive in her cat-eye shades and dark red lips while she drives through the desert picking up masked hitch-hikers. When watching this video, the viewer can not help but wonder what the meaning is behind the masked man and broke down car. The cryptic feel to this video makes the song and video even more intriguing.
“Not in This Town” was released on July 31st and can now be purchase on Bandcamp. Pony Boy is also planning on touring with her band this month in the west coast. Although these tour dates and locations have not been released, we do know she will be accompanied by Garrett Ray (Fool’s Gold), guitarist JP Bendzinski (Crystal Antlers) and bassist Brandon Owens (Lauryn Hill).
