Watch: Yeasayer Debut Their New Creator’s Project Stage Design on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Yeasayer launched their new staging design through The Creators Project on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Forming in 2010, it is a global initiative started by VICE and Intel towards supporting artists by working their creativity through technology, such as an online community, a video channel, a content creation studio and a global event series.

Over 150 Creators from seven countries, as well as artists from around the world are involved in the project. People such as Karen O, Hussein Chalayan, Anish Kapoor, Florence and the Machine, United Visual Artists, Feng Mengbo, Mark Ronson, Jonathan Glazer, Mick Rock, Barney Clay and David Bowie are amongt the Creators participating in the project.

Designed by Casey Reas for the band’s fall tour, his design is described as “alienscape, crystalline” and was debuted on the show.

The Creators Project were approached about turning Yeasayer’s stage show into an experience with lights and colors. The team of Reas, architecture and design firm Aranda/Lasch, video artists Yoshi Sodeoka, along with custom software from Reas and Aaron Meyers worked to bring out the design and visuals for their forthcoming fall tour.

Yesayer’s new album Fragrant World is out Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
