Fay Wolf has just released a new music video for her cover of The Outfield’s “Your Love.” This song, along with two other covers, will be featured on her forthcoming Your Love EP, which is set to be released digitally September 4.
Our first taste of the Your Love EP is the title track, in which Fay Wolf turns The Outfield’s classic hit into a charming, slow-paced ballad. Those who find Fay’s version of “Your Love” strangely familiar might have heard it on the Pretty Little Liars soundtrack back in 2011. The video, directed by Barrett McLaughlin, chronicles a story of love lost in which Fay plays the lead role. The video takes a sharp turn toward the otherworldly about halfway through and makes for a thoroughly entertaining view. Diehard fans of The Outfield might notice a subtle homage to their Play Deep album cover in Fay Wolf’s makeup. Watch mxdwn’s exclusive premiere of “Your Love” below.
Fay Wolf has come a long a way since her debut EP Blankets surfaced in 2009. These three tracks will be Fay’s first release since her first full-length album Spiders, was released in 2011. Along with the cover of The Outfield’s “Your Love”, the EP also includes Fay’s renditions of “Just What I Needed” by the Cars and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston.
Along with Fay Wolf’s new video, the album art and track listing for Your Love EP are now available and included below. The artwork is done by Joshua Ostrander.
