R.I.P. Tony Sly of No Use For a Name

Tony Sly, lead singer and guitarist for punk band, No Use For a Name, recently passed away at age 41.

The cause of his death still hasn’t been released to the public. A few weeks ago, Sly spoke to Spinner in an interview about having a herniated disk on his cervical spine. His back problems held him in the hospital.

Sly said in a Spinner interview:

I’m in pain all the time and that sucks. I’ve been getting epidural shots, seeing a chiropractor and I’m in physical therapy. It’s all a bit much, and a bit depressing.

At this time the cause of death has not been announced.

Sly was No Use For a Name’s original member. He was in the process of working on a new album with the band when he passed away.

The band’s label (Fat Wreck Chords) owner, Fat Mike, said in an interview with Spinner:

One of my dearest friends and favorite song writers has gone way too soon. Tony, you will be greatly missed.

There is no doubt that the music scene will never be the same without Sly. He will be greatly missed by fans, family, musicians, and colleges.
