Coheed and Cambria Announce Two News Albums The Afterman: Ascension and The Afterman: Descension

Coheed and Cambria have announced that their sixth album, “The Afterman,” will be a double album released in two parts.

The double concept album will be released in two separate full-length volumes. The first part, titled The Afterman: Ascension, will be available on October 9th. The second part, titled The Afterman: Descension, is slated for a February 2013 release.

The double album is not a strange phenomenon. Earlier this year, heavy metal band Slipknot also announced a double concept album to be released partly in October, partly in 2013.

In June, we announced that Coheed and Cambria’s lead singer Claudio Sanchez is working with Mark Wahlberg on an upcoming live-action feature film, The Amory Wars.
