Anthony Gonzalez, front man of the French indie-electro band M83, is set to score Tom Cruise’s next sci-fi film, Oblivion.
The film, set for a 2013 release, is about a veteran soldier turned space explorer, and is appropriate for the spacey music Gonzalez creates with M83.
On conquering the feat of scoring his first full-length feature, Gonzalez told The Playlist: “I’m going to push myself… My vision is really to have a combination of very electronic moments, very M83, and sometimes merge into something more soundtrack-y, but my kind of soundtracks.”
Oblivion is directed by Joseph Kosinski, whose 2010 sci-fi flick Tron: Legacy was scored by electro band Daft Punk.
