The third edition of the Slaughter By The Water Festival will be taking place on August 25, 2012, on the USS Hornet air flight carrier in Alameda, California.
Exodus and Philm, featuring Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, former Civil Defiance guitarist Gerry Nestler and WAR bassist Pancho Tomaselli, are the latest bands to be confirmed to perform at the event.

The Slaughter By The Water Festival started in 2010 at the Oakland Metro and has featured Toxic Holocaust, Bonded By Blood, Fuelled By Fire, Zombie Hololcaust and many others. The 2011 edition was held at Craneway Pavillion in Richmond, California and featured Nuclear Assault, Autopsy, Whiplash, Cattle Decapitation, Warbringer and many others.
The USS Hornet was one of the most haunted warships in the US Navy, with 33,000 tons of metal to make up the ship. Numerous reports of supernatural events occurring onboard the 893 foot long ship were featured on various television shows such as MTV’s Fear.
