Photos: Nite Jewel Live at FILTER Summer Sessions, Original Penguin Store

Early on a Saturday afternoon on June 2nd, FILTER kicked off a new series of free Los Angeles events, entitled Summer Sessions. The first of which featured the sweet, indie pop of the relatively new Nite Jewel. Attendees were treated to free cocktails and free food from a local sausage food truck on the back patio of the Original Penguin Store. After a few hours of mingling, Nite Jewel took the stage and played a charming set of originals and one Kraftwerk cover. Performing here as a four-piece, singer Ramona Gonzalez performed backed by additional drums, keyboards and guitar. Nite Jewel lands more on the side of sonically pleasing as opposed to having any one song that sticks out as a single. Here at a relaxed afternoon party, her mellow electro fit the mood just right.
