Austin Post-Rock band Explosions in the Sky are set to record the original soundtrack for David Gordon Green’s new comedy Prince Avalanche which stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch.
Post-Rock pioneers Explosions in the Sky are returning to the original soundtrack form. They are planning on entering the studio in August to write and record the soundtrack for the upcoming comedy Prince Avalanche. Explosions in the Sky are familiar to having their music on film as they wrote the original soundtrack for the Friday Night Lights film.
Prince Avalanche is directed by David Gordon Green and stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. Green has recently directed the stoner-comedy Pineapple Express and the Jonah Hill hit The Sitter. Green has previously used Explosions’ music for his movies Snow Angels and All The Real Girls.
Explosions are currently finishing their 2012 tour which included stops at Sasquatch and Coachella. They are touring off their successful 2011 album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care.
