Ex-Fleetwood Mac member, Bob Welch, passed away last Thursday (June 7th) at age 66 in a tragic suicide.
Welch shot himself in the chest, and was found dead by his wife around noon.
He had been suffering medical problems recently, and appears to have killed himself to avoid burdening his loved ones. In a suicide note left for his wife, Welch explained his realization that he would not recover, proclaiming “I don’t want to do this to you.”
Welch was known as guitarist and vocalist for Fleetwood Mac during their prime years, going on to start start another group called Paris in 1976.
He will be missed.
