Julianna Barwick and Helado Negro have joined forces to create the new musical group, OMBRE, which will release its debut album, Believe You Me, on August 27th.
Both artists have come together with their own sounds and creativity to create a new musical masterpiece. Barkwick and Negro got to know each other through the label, Asthmatic Kitty. Asthmatic Kitty has helped OMBRE come out with the debut album.
OMBRE has also challenged Barwick and Negro musically. Barwick is known for her voice and musical affects on her solo work. In OMBRE, she plays guitar, vibraphone, electric piano, and synthesizer.
According to asthmatickitty.com, their first single, “Cara Falsa”, is an example of the two artists mixing Barwick’s “high harmonies and church choir melodies” and Negro’s “rustic-Latin-pysche-folk meets big-city-blockparty.”
