Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins Set to Play Iggy Pop in Upcoming CBGB Film

The producers of the forthcoming CBGB has reportedly selected Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins to play the Iggy Pop role in their movie, according to SPIN.com. This comes after problems between the filmmakers and the family of the late CBGBs owner Hilly Kristal’s family ensued.

Hawkins has previously crossed paths with Pop last year at the Isle of Wight Festival in the UK.

According to THR.com, actor Alan Rickman has been confirmed to play the lead Hilly Kristal role, along with Malin Ackerman playing Blondie singer Debbie Harry and Rupert Grint playing Cheetah Chrome of the Dead Boys.

Micky Sumner (The Borgias) will portray Patti Smith; Johnny Galecki (Big Bang Theory/Roseanne) will portray Television manager Terry Ork; as well as Steven Schub, Joel David Moore and Julian Acosta will be playing Joey, Johnny and Dee Dee Ramone, respectively. .
