William Orbit Claims Damon Albarn Has Halted Recording Sessions for Blur’s New Album

Since 2003, the world hasn’t heard a new record from Blur. Unfortunately, the streak continues on. Read on to find out why.

Blur

It had been nine years since Think Tank was released which meant that the time had come for Blur to make an eighth album. However, the ambition to do so was taken away when Damon Albarn, lead singer of Blur, suddenly halted recording sessions as of earlier this month. William Orbit, the band’s producer, stated that Albarn is “brilliant and talented” but did not come through for this band’s shining moment.

Fans will still have something to look forward to within the next few months. Monday July 30 marks the release of Blur 21, a box set including all seven studio albums, four discs of rarities, three DVDs, a book of interviews with the band, and other collectibles. Also, all seven albums will be released on vinyl in a separate box set. Although the recording sessions have ended, fans have quite a bit to look forward to, especially those in the UK who await for Blur’s August performances.
