Black Sabbath Removes Bill Ward From Photos on Official Site Per His Request

When Black Sabbath’s website started sporting old photos of the band with Bill Ward cropped out, everyone jumped to the conclusion that the band chose to controversially remove him from the photos.  Interestingly, it’s the other way around.  View the full press release below that shows this decision was made at the request of Bill Ward and his attorney.

The photo above is one of many that can be seen in Black Sabbath’s gallery that mysteriously erases Bill Ward from the band’s history.  Fortunately, this is only temporary omission.  Since there have been so many rumors about whether Bill Ward was actually participating in the Black Sabbath reunion, he and his attorney decided to remove him from the band photos to rid fans of any confusion.  The original photo with Ward, along with the formal press release, are included below.

“At the request of Bill Ward, through his attorney, so as to not give the public the wrong impression about his involvement in the current Black Sabbath lineup, we have temporarily removed Bill Ward’s images from the main pages of the blacksabbath.com official website. In accordance with Bill Ward’s attorney’s request, we are doing so for the duration of the forthcoming shows.” — BLACK SABBATH
