Mark Lanegan Band Performs Four Songs for the 4AD Sessions

Mark Lanegan Band recorded four songs from their Blues Funeral album for the 4AD Sessions series. This marks the thirteenth of the series.

They recorded the four songs at Pull Studios in Manhattan’s Hudson Square, capturing Lanegan’s voice during rehearsals for a New York City show prior to the release of Blues Funeral. The Sessions were filmed and produced by Robert Semmer.

The Mark Lanegan Band performs four songs including “Harborview Hospital” and “The Gravedigger’s Song.” Unlike the others in the series, the intention behind this release was to do away with any fancy studio edits, and to show Lanegan in his purest form and the quality behind his sound.
