Jack White, who has lent his musical talents to movie soundtracks before, has taken on the role of composer for Disney’s The Lone Ranger. Find out more after the jump.

The film, which stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer opens May 31, 2013. Disney got in touch with White, and he has officially signed on to score the film, remake of the 1949 version. White has previously written music for films like Cold Mountain, and Quantum of Solace (a collaboration with singer, Alicia Keys). The artist’s latest album, Blunderbuss, was released this year.Check out a track from the Quantum soundtrack below.
