Listen: Stream Aesop Rock’s New Song “Zero Dark Thirty”

Hip hop artist Aesop Rock is set to release a new album, Skelethon, this July.  After a hiatus of five years, Aesop Rock has finally returned to the recording studio.  As a preview for the much awaited album, Aesop Rock has released the album’s first single “Zero Dark Thirty.”

You can stream “Zero Dark Thirty” on Stereogum.  The song quintessentially represents the vintage Aesop sound with its disorienting, dizzying sound.

Aesop Rock, a.k.a Ian Matthias Bavitz, has been making music since the 90s and has played in bands such as The Weathermen, Hail Mary Mallon, and Two Of Every Animal.  Aesop is known for his abstract and complicated lyrics, making the listener work very hard to grasp the meaning.  Skelethon will mark his sixth album, which accompanies three EPs and multiple collaborations.
