GZA Says “Wu-Tang Hasn’t Been On The Same Page In Years”

According to GZA’s interview with the Rolling Stone, all is not well on the Wu-Tang front and moreover, it hasn’t been for quite some time.  Although it’s been apparent for about a decade or so that Wu-Tang was past their prime, hearing the word from GZA adds a sad finality to the sentiment.

Here’s what GZA had to say about the current state of Wu-Tang:

We haven’t been on the same page in years […] It is what it is. Sometimes that match burns out. So, no, I don’t feel bad about it. It’s good. I’m grateful for everything we have done throughout our careers and if there’s nothing else to put out, then there’s nothing to put out. I’m constantly writing and working. It doesn’t stop there.

Although Wu-Tang is at an indefinite standstill, GZA certainly is not.  The man who has always been recognized as the genius of the group has been adding some definite credibility to that high title.  As of recent, he’s been lecturing at places like Harvard and taken to a deep interest in science.  His new album inspired by quantum physics, Dark Matter, will hit stores later this year.  Here’s what GZA said about Dark Matter:

I had several different ideas and concepts in my head. It’s just a journey of the universe. Dark matter, dark energy. The thing at MIT didn’t really have anything to do with it. This was just something that added to it. I mean, I never went to a university and linked up with, you know, quantum and astrophysicists and things of that nature. But it’s not like this is what sparked the idea for me to want to do this album.
