Watch: Rare Footage of Nine Inch Nails On 80s Show Dance Party USA Hits the Web

A video of Nine Inch Nails performing on the 80s show Dance Party USA has surfaced on the internet.  Pitchfork discovered the video on Echoing the Sound’s message board.  Check out the hilarious clip of “Down in it” after the jump.

The rock group was originally started by Clevelander Trent Reznor in 1988.  NIN most recently released Ghosts I-IV and The Slip in 2008.  Reznor explains that the group went on Dance Party USA as a joke to mock the outrageous dance show.  Unfortunately for them, the embarrassing dance moves have been recorded by the web and will survive for generations to come.
