The Big Sleep Live at the PureVolume House SXSW

mxdwn.com favorite The Big Sleep were next up over at the PureVolume House. This show would’ve been a great moment for any band. Coming off a set where the band prior had drawn little to no interest from the crowd, The Big Sleep took a weary crowd and built them up into excitement in a lean 20-minute set. The group’s two lead singers/axemen Sonya Balchandani and Danny Barria chugged out the power chords and bass drops amidst varied keyboards and electronic effects. In just those few short minutes, they pulled off the cathartic feeling of a 90-minute slugfest.
