There’s nothing quite like the unbridled chaos of Andrew W.K. concert. Following an epic tremolo picking opening, the man in white came out with wife Cherie Lily and launched into “It’s Time to Party.” The crowd went absolutely nuts and became a swirling mass of fist-banging, moshing and stage diving. His band three guitarists strong, W.K. himself would alternate between singing/flailing his arms and playing keyboard like a virtuoso. “Girl is Beautiful” and “Long Live the Party” exploded the energy into joyful glee. However, “Party Hard” cemented the spirit and ethos of Andrew W.K. here: the unrelenting pursuit of a good time because it absolutely needs to happen.
