After nearly six since the last time Kasabian did a full tour of the U.S., the band is back in full force. We last covered Kasabian at Coachella 2005 and much like that set, the same fact rings true: the vocal harmonies between guitarist Sergio Pizzorno and lead vocalist Tom Meighan put the band over the top. Pizzorno is a skilled guitarist, but there’s something about the timbre of the two voices layered together that just shimmers. New cut “Rewired” and first-album track “I.D.” had the crowd rocking and swaying. The only oddity here was the incongruous size of the crowd compared to the band’s fan base in Europe. The band was just announced as the headliner for the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals. Strange that America hasn’t taken to them the way the rest of the world has. Seriously amazxing band.
