Gossip’s Beth Ditto is something of a human highlight reel. At some points rocking out the riot girl/dance puck ethos with even more exuberance than Le Tigre in their prime, at others quipping with charismatic hilarity about everything from her neighbors watching the live feed back at home to Mariah Carey’s boobs, Ditto is the real deal. The bass bounds back and forth while the rhythm drives along at full speed. One song Ditto dropped in an artful portion of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” while on another he did a whole verse of Reba Mcentire’s “Fancy.” Dancing to this un-pretensious show of skill was the best way to usher in the sunset.
