First up on our slate of artists at SXSW 2012 was indie-conscious rapper Oddisee. Oddisee was energetic and positive through his short afternoon set. As the crowd stood relatively motionless (remarkably humid weather in Austin today) they still took to waving their hands and chanting “Ho!” when prompted to though. For Oddisee, that’s success enough, as there’s usually only a slot or two on SXSW bills for rap artists, a fact he made mention of himself before his set was finished.
