Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead, and Scott and Bryan Devendorf of The National are playing a show in San Rafael, California on March 24, 2012. Weir’s own TRI Studios will be the site for the performance. The show is entitled The Bridge Session and is an effort of the three musicians to bridge the ideas of those on both sides of the recent Occupy movement. A roundtable discussion will fill the gaps between songs and will be hosted by John Perry Barlow, Weir’s band mate in The Grateful Dead. The set will consist of songs from both groups involved as well as cover versions of songs that they are saying are “politically minded.” The concert proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization HeadCount.
There is currently and online auction for tickets to the event and another chance to win tickets here.
