Watch: Amanda Palmer Covers Nirvana’s “Polly”

Last year, Amanda Palmer recorded a cover of Nirvana’s “Polly,” and she has recently released an eerie video for the single.  The video was directed by Michael McQuilken, a member of Palmer’s touring band.  It features actors Christopher M. McFarland and Jillian Taylor along with Blake Brasher.

Kurt Kobain wrote “Polly” after reading about a girl that had been abducted and tortured.  Palmer wanted to continue this backstory in her video to bring “the disturbing-ness to a whole new level,” she said.

Check out the official video for “Polly”:

Amanda Palmer originally began as a part of the duo The Dresden Dolls.  She now performs solo as well as in the duo Evelyn Evelyn.  Palmer is known for her “pay what you will” attitude, posting her videos on her website, and only asking for a 50 cent donation.
