The Spinto Band, a charming indie-pop out from Delaware, have just announced the details for their forthcoming release. And although the title might lead you to think otherwise, it should be nothing of a Shy Pursuit. In support of the release, the band will be heading out on tour and stopping by Austin for SXSW 2012.
Although The Spinto Band has remained relatively quiet as of recent, they certainly haven’t been inactive. Since 2009, the band has been settling in and establishing their own personal club in Delaware. There, they have been writing and recording Shy Pursuit, hosting concerts and events, as well as starting up an operation office for their new record label, Spintonic Records.
The Spinto Band relishes in the idea of self-sustenance, very much being a DIY band. The title for Shy Pursuit appears ironic, since it seems that this should be their most unbridled. This, their third LP, was done completely on their own terms, which gave The Spinto Band the ability to make the record as they wanted it to sound. Keep up with them in the next couple months, for they will be heading out on tour, as well as dropping some fun YouTube treats, as well as an iPod app/game related to the album. Shy Pursuitwill be available May 1 on Spintonic Recordings.
Take a listen to the first single off of Shy Pursuit, “Take It”. Judging by the sharp harmonies and carefully constructed rhythm section of the track, it appears that Shy Pursuit will be methodically calculated and undeniably catchy.
