An MP3 download of the Gorillaz’ newest sneaker-inspired track, “DoYaThing” is now available for download. The track was created as part of Converse’s “Three Artists. One Song” series, and is available for free download after the jump. The 13-minute track coincides with a Gorillaz-designed sneaker line and a forthcoming animated video, due out on February 29.

“Music inspired by a shoe is quite a hard thing to get your head around,” founding Gorillaz member Damon Albarn tells Pitchfork. The collaboration began when co-founder Jamie Hewlett created four Gorillaz-themed designs for the Converse spring collection. The release of the track rounds out the Gorillaz’ creative contributions to Converse’s arty sneaker campaign.
The track was initially released as four-and-a-half-minute preview on Converse’s site. A full-length streaming release from 107.7 The End followed. The track was recorded live in 13 minutes of spontaneity on the last day of work in a London studio, and is, according to the group, the best representation of the total collaborative efforts.
“That’s the story of what happened over the course of those three days,” says Albarn of the piece. “It’s a nice narrative.”
The 13-minute song will also be accompanied by a Gorillaz-style animated video, set to premiere on Converse’s official site on February 29.
