Members of Hot Chip Form New Build and Announce Debut Album Yesterday Was Lived and Lost for April 2012 Release

Say hello to New Build, the London-based act featuring two members of Hot Chip. They’re dropping their debut album, Yesterday was Lived and Lost, this Spring. Check out their tunes after the jump.

The new group formed last year in London. It features Al Doyle and Felix Martin, both of Hot Chip, as well as electronic composer Tom Hopkins. The Hot Chip influence is easy to hear, but there’s more than that on the record, which their release calls “the meeting place for some pretty strange and varied ideas.”

Their first album, Yesterday Was Lived and Lost, will come out on April 3rd of this year. The UK gets it early, on March 5th. The band is playing shows at the Mercury Lounge in New York City on March 13th and 14th. Both shows are already sold out, but the band (in its 8-piece live form) is planning to tour the US, UK and Europe in support of their debut.
