The indie-rock ban Here We Go Magic has announced that they will be releasing a new album called A Different Ship this coming May. This will be the band’s fourth album and has been brewing ever since the Glastonbury Festival in 2010.
The American band was started by Luke Temple who first played in the folk world and then ventured into the realm of rock after creating a band with Kristina Lieberson, Michael Bloch, Jennifer Turner, and Peter Hale. The band is known for its repetitive and layered musical style. Many see their music as a form of stream-of-conscious composition. HWGM has blended a wide range of styles, including krautrock, indie folk, hypnotica, Baroque pop, electro folk, and plains country.
A Different Ship continues their eclectic musical style by creating both anxiety and calm at the same time. Half of their songs sound more bizarre and out of this world and half embrace a cooler timbre that is more of this planet.
