Daft Punk In Talks with Nile Rodgers and Panda Bear For Possible New Album

Per Culturemap and Pitchfork, Daft Punk have been in discussions with both former Chic frontman Nile Rodgers and Animal Collective member Panda Bear about collaborating on upcoming tracks.

Daft Punk’s last effort was the 2012 soundtrack to Tron: Legacy, which is up for a Grammy Award this year. Their upcoming work has already been linked to another collaborator, songwriter Paul Williams, in prior reports.

The 59-year-old Rodgers is famous for his work in disco and funk, most notably with his band Chic, formed in the late 70s. He is also widely respected as a producer, with credits ranging from David Bowie and Madonna to the soundtracks of Halo 2 and Beverly Hills Cop III.

Panda Bear, whose real name is Noah Lennox, is a 33-year-old founding member of Animal Collective. His solo efforts include 2007’s Person Pitch and 2011’s Tomboy.
