New Jersey punk trio Screaming Females have announced a release date for their fifth studio effort, entitled Ugly and due out on Don Giovanni Records April 3. The album’s first single, “It Means Nothing”, will be released February 11 at the Don Giovanni Records Showcase being held in Brooklyn. Following this showcase will be a week-long tour of free record store shows in support of Ugly, beginning at the Music Hall of Williamsburg February 11 and ending February 19 at Chi-towns Permanent Records.
The trio, consisting of Marissa Paternoster on guitar and vocals, Jarrett Dougherty on drums, and King Mike on bass, enlisted the help of famed producer Steve Albini, known for his ability to capture the essence of a life performance in the studio.
