Hip hop performer Freddie Gibbs and DJ, producer and MC (in that order) Madlib have teamed up for a six track EP entitled Thuggin, out now on Stones Throw, as reported by Pitchfork. A video for “Thuggin” is now available, check it out after the jump:
“Thuggin'” is pretty raw, with cameras following the pair as an armed robbery is taking place, and featuring all of the gun-toting and street cred boasting you’d come to expect from a track titled as such.
The EP dropped during a show in San Francisco back in November when Madlib brought Gibbs out on stage and made the announcement that the two had recorded Thuggin together. After the show, 500 copies of the limited edition were sold before being available for sale through Stones Throw.
Gibbs and Madlib released the EP as a precursor to an as-of-yet untitled full length album due out sometime in early 2012.
