As previously reported, Kyp Malone of T.V. on the Radio and ex-Liturgy percussionist Greg Fox teamed up to record music to benefit and inspired by the Occupy Wall Street Movement. That recording has now hit the web under the moniker New Party Systems, as reported by Consequence of Sound, in the form of an anthem entitled “We Are”. Stream the track after the jump:
“We Are” is available to stream or purchase here, with the interesting twist that you decide what you want to pay for it. All proceeds will reportedly be going to the Occupy movement.
Notekillers guitarist Dave First composed the track with Malone supplying vocals, Fox on drums, and Liturgy’s Bernard Gann on bass. Though Oneidia drummer Kid Millions was also reportedly involved in the collaboration, he does not appear on the track.
New Party Systems plans to release more music in the future, according to Pitchfork, and recently performed together at Brooklyn’s Union Pool on January 18.
