PELICAN Announce New EP Ataraxia/Taraxis For April 2012 Release

Post-instrumental rock group, PELICAN are releasing brand new EP and following that with a 2012 tour. After 2009’s well received What We All Come To Need, this new record shows how the group’s sound has grown.

Ataraxia/Taraxis will be available for purchase on April 10 via Southern Lord Records. This four song EP is the latest project from PELICAN, who originally come from Chicago. They have become famous for their lack of vocals on most of their tracks. Other previous works include Australasia (2003), The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw (2005),  March Into the Sea (2005), and City of Echoes (2007). With this new EP, the group was able to focus more on composition and tried to find ways to use the recording studio as a creative tool toward their songwriting.
