Frequent collaborator, Jack White is now teaming up with someone little unexpected: Tom Jones. Read on to see how the rock musician and classic crooner Jones decided to work together.

As part of their Blue Series recordings, Third Man Records has invited Tom Jones to reinterpret Frankie Laine‘s “Jezebel,” and blues singer Howlin’ Wolf’s “Evil.” They will be available for purchase on 7″ vinyl here, and on iTunes on March 5, 2012. The independent label which got its start in 2001 was the brainchild of White. The company was originally started in Detroit, MI, and are currently in Nashville, ‘TN. At its beginning, White was able to self produce all of The White Stripes albums. These include their self titled debut The White Stripes, followed by De Stijl, White Blood Cells, Elephant, Get Behind Me Satan, and Icky Thump.
On his own Jack White found success recording for films like Cold Mountain (which he also had a small part in), and the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. After this, he formed The Raconteurs alongside Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, and Patrick Keeler. Together they recorded two successful albums: Broken Boy Soldiers, and Consolers of the Lonely.
Tom Jones
Tom Jones, who rose to fame with hits like “What’s New Pussycat,” and “It’s Not Unusual” recently signed on as a judge on BBC One’s The Voice.
