Icelandic musician Bjork has announced ten live show dates in New York City. The singer/songwriter will bring her Biophilia show for special 10-night residency in cooperation with the New York Hall of Science.
The venue is fitting given Bjork’s apparent performance plans: the shows will feature apparatus like a ten-foot pendulum harp, twin musical tesla coils and a midi-controlled pipe organ. The performances will also feature an award-winning 24-piece Icelandic female choir, accompanied by visual from Biophilia app designer Max Weisel.
Bjork will also participate with the New York Hall of Science on a three-week Biophilia education series. The series will feature interactive science and music education that focus on the core of the Biophilia songs. Crystalline structures, lunar phases, and viruses will be amongst the topics covered, giving New York City middle-schoolers the chance to experience artist-driven science and music curriculum that has been incorporated into the Icelandic school syllabus.
Tickets go on sale January 13 at 10:00 am through Ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster charge by phone at 800.745.3000.
