Metallica has announced plans to release their latest digital EP, Beyond Magnetic as a physical CD copy, rounding out the album’s December 13 digital-only release. The CD copies will hit retail outlets on January 31in North America, and January 30 worldwide.
The album includes four songs originally recorded for the group’s 2008 release Death Magnetic. “We kept them in the vault and decided to pull them for our 30th anniversary celebration last month,” says the group in a press release. “These are ROUGH mixes, unfinished to their original degree of mixing from March ’08.”
Metallica’s 30th anniversary last month was marked by series of four appearances at the Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco, made exclusively for members of their fan club, the Metallica Club.
