In his most recent sketch, Fallon takes attention to detail, creativity, and impersonation to a new level by performing Reading Rainbow‘s theme song as performed by The Doors on Late Night.
If you don’t religiously watch PBS or spend your spare hours watching children’s television shows from the 80s, you would probably think that Jimmy Fallon is covering some lesser known song by The Doors. Not only is his Jim Morrison swagger spot on, but an impressive attention to detail in terms of recreating The Doors’ instrumentation and sound creates the illusion that you are watching The Doors perform a song that they wrote. The reality: you are watching Jimmy Fallon and company perform the theme song from the PBS hit children’s television show, Reading Rainbow.
