The Ting Tings Announce New Album Sounds From Nowheresville for March 2012 Release

British pop duo The Ting Tings have announced their forthcoming sophomore album, Sounds From Nowheresville, due out from Columbia Records in March of 2012.

The group rose to DIY hardcore pop status with massive acclaim following their 2008 debut album We Started Nothing. The record featured hit singles “That’s Not My Name,” “Shut Up And Let Me Go,” and “Great DJ.” The entire compilation sold over four million worldwide copies, and landed them spot on Saturday Night Live, a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for “Best Album” in 2009, and Grammy nomination for “Best New Artist.”

Sounds from Nowherseville is the culmination of efforts that stretched from a Berlin recording that was scrapped in its entirety to a re-think in Murcia, Spain that makes up the forthcoming, and highly-anticipated effort.

The group has also launched the Show Us Yours Tour, in which they’ve called on art students to design and produce fashion items, music videos, mix tracks and poster and artwork designs. Winners have their work featured on The Ting Tings website, and the group ultimately discovered the artwork for the forthcoming album through this interactive and personal opportunity.

The group will also return to the US for a tour in the Spring of 2012. Stay tuned for forthcoming concert dates and ticket availability.
